OUR BOARD

The Board of Trustees are responsible for the administration of the charity and meet on a monthly basis. The Board has appointed an Executive Director to manage the day to day operations of the charity with responsibility for the operational matters, including employment, project delivery and budgetary management.

All new Trustees are given an induction by the Chair and the Executive Director and are provided with a comprehensive induction pack. Trustees are offered ongoing training throughout their tenure.

Thank you to our past and current Board Trustee’s for their valuable contributions. Their wise counsel and patient advice, especially at key turning points, which has allowed PIPS to flourish.

OUR VOLUNTEERS

We have a very dedicated team of volunteers helping us deliver our support services and fundraising services during the year. Without their tireless commitment, it would be difficult to maintain this essential service to communities across Northern Ireland.

We wish to acknowledge their hard work and dedication and to thank them all for their continued support. The positive feedback we receive from the general public who use our services is down to the dedication of all our volunteers.

Rachel - 21 - Youth Ambassador

I chose to be a volunteer as I wanted to help give back to PIPS for helping me when I was struggling with my own mental health. I chose PIPS as I believe they are one of the best organisations that allow people to properly get access to help and there is no time limit for them. The best part of volunteering with PIPS is that I get the chance to meet amazing people and develop good friendships with them. My motivation to continue being a volunteer is that I want to help create less stigma around mental illness. From being a volunteer at PIPS I have grown so much and I feel so much more confident to be able to speak out and reach out to people.

The best thing for me working as a counsellor in PIPS is the client work. When I first joined the care team I was qualified but I had a lot of professional development to continue following my studies. Initially I wondered if I would be able to work with such high risk individuals, but thanks to PIPS I quickly learned that I had the skills, empathy & resilience needed to work with complex presenting issues. At PIPS I feel valued and although I’m only there one afternoon a week I feel like an important part of the team.  I highly recommend PIPS suicide prevention to almost everyone I meet but especially friends and family.
