World Suicide Prevention Day 2025
World Suicide Prevention Day takes place every year on 10 September. It’s a time when people across the globe come together to raise awareness that suicide is preventable. This year’s global theme is “Let’s change the narrative around suicide”. At PIPS Suicide Prevention Charity, our message is clear: “Together, we can make suicide prevention stronger.”
Why This Day Matters?
- Suicide is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, affecting people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.
- By talking openly, reducing stigma, and supporting one another, we can all play a part in prevention.
How You Can Help Make Suicide Prevention Stronger?
- Start the conversation by asking “How are you, really?” and listening without judgement.
- Know the signs — they may look like withdrawal, hopelessness, mood changes, or talking about death.
- Offer support by showing you care and connecting someone to professional help such as PIPS.
- Stay connected by checking in after your first conversation.
- Share the message by posting our resources and encouraging others to get involved.
